BACHELOR OF BIBLICAL STUDIES
Deeper study. For the believer who is hungry to go further in the Word.
4 Years | 120 Credit Hours | 32 Required + 8 Electives | 16 Dominion Weekends
Not every believer is called to vocational ministry. But every believer is called to know the Word of God deeply.
The Bachelor of Biblical Studies exists for that calling. It is built for the believer who is tired of skimming the Bible and is ready to study it. The believer who is tired of secondhand convictions and wants their own. The believer who is hungry to know the God they serve with depth and accuracy — and who is willing to put four years into that hunger to see it satisfied.
This program is not a less-rigorous version of the Bachelor of Ministry & Leadership. It is built for a different calling. Where the BML focuses on the practical work of leading in the Church, the BBS focuses on the deep, sustained study of Scripture and biblical theology. Both are sacred. Both are needed. The Church will always need pastors, leaders, and ministry directors — and the Church will always need mature, biblically grounded believers who can read, teach, defend, and disciple others into the truth.
By the time you complete the Bachelor of Biblical Studies, you will not just have read the Bible. You will understand it. You will be able to teach it. You will be able to defend it. And you will be the kind of seasoned, biblically grounded believer that every healthy local church desperately needs.
“The Church will always need mature, biblically grounded believers who can teach the next generation.” – Dr. Steve Ball | Chancellor

How the Program Is Built
The Bachelor of Biblical Studies is built in two phases — a foundation phase, then a deeper study phase. Both are essential. The first phase grounds you in the whole Bible, the second phase takes you vertical into the books, themes, and figures that shape mature biblical understanding.
Phase 1 — Years 1-2: The Foundation The first two years of the BBS are identical to the Associate of Biblical Studies program. Sixteen required courses and four electives covering the Old Testament, the New Testament, hermeneutics, systematic theology, Christian apologetics, Christian worldview, the Holy Spirit, spiritual disciplines, evangelism, and discipleship. By the end of Phase 1, you will have a panoramic, working knowledge of the entire Bible. Students who already hold the Associate of Biblical Studies from JBC transfer directly into Phase 2.
Phase 2 — Years 3-4: Deeper Study The final two years go vertical. Sixteen new required courses and four new elective courses build on the foundation with deep, focused study of major biblical books, biblical themes, and the practical work of teaching and discipling others. This is where the BBS becomes distinctly itself — the years that shape a believer who can not only read the Bible but stand under the weight of difficult questions and faithful exposition.
