CORE VALUES

What We Build On

The seven values on this page are not aspirational. They are operational. They flow from our Mission and Vision, and they shape every program, every course, every standard, and every graduate this school produces. If you study at JBC, you will be formed by these seven — whether you walk through them deliberately or not. They are the bedrock under everything we do.

Read them slowly. Read them honestly. Then ask yourself: Do these commitments match the commitments God is forming in me? If the answer is yes — keep going. There is a house here for you.

01 — The Word

Culture does not shape our convictions. Scripture does.

Biblical Authority

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

The Bible is the final authority for doctrine, leadership, and life. Not culture. Not consensus. Not the latest book on the bestseller list. Not the most viral preacher on social media. Scripture.

Every class we teach, every conversation we have, and every decision we make flows from the Word of God. We do not bend it to fit the moment. We submit the moment to the Word. That is not arrogance. That is the only honest posture a Bible college can take, because the Word will outlast every cultural wind that tries to shape it.

If a student leaves JBC and forgets every other thing we taught them — let them remember this. The Word is final. Build your life on it.

02 — The Spirit

Ministry flows from intimacy, not effort.

Spirit-Empowered Living

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…” — Acts 1:8 (NLT)

The Holy Spirit is not optional. He is essential.

Too many Bible colleges produce graduates who know about the Holy Spirit but do not actually move with Him. We refuse to be one of them. At JBC, we pursue the presence of God, the power of God, and the voice of God in every classroom and every assignment. We teach believers to hear Him. To depend on Him. To minister out of overflow, not effort.

You cannot study your way into Spirit-empowered ministry. You have to walk with Him. So we walk with Him here — and we teach you to do the same.

03 — Character

Character matters more than charisma. Integrity matters more than influence.

Spiritual Formation

“So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.” — Colossians 1:28 (NLT)

We are not just transferring information. We are forming Christlike leaders.

The Church does not have a knowledge crisis. The Church has a character crisis. Too many gifted communicators have been disqualified by what was never dealt with under the surface. We refuse to keep producing that fruit. We are building leaders whose private life matches their public message.

Maturity is more important than ministry activity. Integrity is more important than influence. Character is more important than charisma. If we send you out with a platform but without character, we have not served you. We have set you up.

04 — Authority

We do not settle for theory. We pursue the manifestation of the Kingdom.

Kingdom Demonstration

“For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.” — 1 Corinthians 4:20 (NLT)

The gospel is not only proclaimed. It is demonstrated.

Jesus did not just teach the Kingdom. He demonstrated it. He healed the sick. He cast out demons. He raised the dead. He silenced storms. And then He turned to His disciples and said, “As the Father sent me, so I am sending you” (John 20:21, NLT).

We are not satisfied with theory at JBC. We train believers to walk in the authority Jesus gave them — praying for the sick, casting out darkness, hearing God’s voice, and bringing heaven to earth. We do not chase manifestations. We pursue Christ. But where Christ is honored, the manifestations follow.

05 — Leaders

Leadership is not a position. It is a stewardship.

Leadership Development

“You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.” — 2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)

We intentionally identify, develop, and deploy leaders.

Leadership is not a position. It is a stewardship. We equip men and women who can carry responsibility, build healthy teams, shepherd people well, and steward influence with integrity. We do not leave that development to chance. We build it in on purpose.

Some of our students will pastor churches. Some will plant new ones. Some will lead worship, run businesses, raise families, or carry assignments in the marketplace. Whatever the arena — we are committed to forming leaders who can be trusted with weight.

06 — The Church

We strengthen the local church. We never compete with it.

Local Church Commitment

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:11-12 (NLT)

The local church is God’s primary strategy for advancing His Kingdom.

Not the conference circuit. Not the Bible college. Not the parachurch. The local church. We hold this without apology. Every other ministry exists to strengthen the Church and serve the Church — never to replace it or compete with it.

That conviction shapes everything about JBC. We are built inside a local church, covered by a local church, and committed to sending every student back to a local church healthier and more equipped than when they came. We will not credential anyone to bypass the body of Christ. We will train them to build it up.

07 — Multiplication

We raise producers, not consumers.

Kingdom Expansion

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)

We measure success not by who comes, but by who is sent.

A Bible college that only fills seats is failing. A Bible college that produces reproducers is succeeding. We are committed to the second one. Every student here is being formed not just for their own assignment, but for the people they will disciple, mentor, train, plant, and send after them.

The Great Commission was never a suggestion. It was a command. And it was a command to multiply. We are not raising consumers of the Kingdom. We are raising reproducers in the Kingdom.

How our core values work together…

The Word plus the Spirit produces Character. Character plus Authority produces Leaders. Leaders planted inside the Church produces Multiplication. Together, they produce the kind of believer the Church and the world desperately need.
